Carin Roth: Owner/Broker
In partnership with her father, Ernest Roth, Carin founded Fire Island Real Estate in 1977 as a division of Roth Builders, which had been building and renovating homes on Fire Island since the early 1950s. A licensed agent since 1974 and a licensed broker since 1977, Carin went directly into real estate after attending Brandeis University. Carin has been actively engaged in the Fire Island market ever since, and has been through several economic cycles, thriving through boom as well as bust. Her longevity is a testament to her commitment to serving first and foremost the best interests of her clients, as well as the deal-making ability for which she is known. Carin owns properties in Ocean Beach, Seaview, and Ocean Bay Park, and is therefore acutely aware of the dynamics of real estate ownership and investment on the island.
Abigail Medvin: Office Manager/Licensed Sales Associate
Abigail Medvin has been a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson for more than 5 years. Prior to joining Fire Island Real Estate, Abi was a Sales Associate at Brown Harris Stevens in Manhattan where she serviced over $75 million worth of transactions. Known for her organization and attention to detail, Abi is committed to providing the highest level of client service and can be reached on her blackberry at any time. Having spent her every summer on Fire Island, Abi is a local expert. Actively involved in the community, she is the former owner of Fire Island Ice Cream Company (presently Beaches and Cream). She has resided in Ocean Beach as well as in Seaview. Abi holds a degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences from Dartmouth College and splits her time between her family home on Fire Island and her apartment in Manhattan’s Soho.
Laurie N. Bell: Licensed Sales Associate
Laurie Bell grew up on Fire Island. She summered in Ocean Beach and Corneille Estates until she was a teenager and her family moved to Seaview, where she currently resides. Laurie was a counselor at the Ocean Beach Youth Group for many summers and quite a number of her former campers are now Fire Island homeowners. Laurie has a BA from NYU in Psychology and Cinema Studies. Her eclectic background includes experience in epidemiology and health care planning, business-to-business and medical focus group recruiting, and sales services management. Laurie has had her Real Estate Sales License for more than three years and joined Fire Island Real Estate the Summer of 2009. Laurie splits her time between her Manhattan apartment in the Village and her family house in Seaview.
